Layer 265 · Proprietary computational research platform

PROMETHEUS

A place for difficult questions to become testable ideas.

PROMETHEUS is Layer 265’s proprietary computational research platform in development. Its purpose is to support mathematical investigation, algorithm development and reproducible experimentation.

What we’re building

From an idea to something you can test.

PROMETHEUS is being developed around a practical research cycle: make the question precise, explore candidate methods, design a fair comparison and use the findings to decide what to investigate next.

MATHEMATICAL INVESTIGATION

Understand the problem.

Examine the assumptions, mathematical models and computational constraints that determine what an approach can do.

HYPOTHESIS TESTING

Ask questions a test can answer.

Turn a proposed explanation into a testable prediction, including conditions that would show where it fails.

ALGORITHM DISCOVERY

Develop candidate methods.

Explore different approaches and define how they should be compared, with attention to correctness, computational cost and useful operating conditions.

SIMULATION AND EXPERIMENTATION

Build a fair comparison.

The development goal is controlled, reproducible experimentation: documented inputs, suitable baselines and preserved outcomes, including negative results.

Development status

A working foundation. A clear next step.

PROMETHEUS is in development. We distinguish the capabilities demonstrated internally from the ones we’re working toward.

Demonstrated internally

Structured research and review

The current foundation supports AI-assisted hypothesis development, technical-design review and critical review across distinct model roles, with preserved research records.

Next development goals

Controlled experimental iteration

Planned development includes controlled software experiments, evidence-linked research memory and reproducible simulation comparisons that can inform continued investigation.

These internal workflow demonstrations do not establish independent scientific validation or field qualification. Performance claims require evidence from the relevant tests.

The research ambition

Make the next investigation better informed.

A useful result can reveal a stronger method, an unexpected limitation or a question worth pursuing. Our goal is for PROMETHEUS to preserve those lessons and bring them into the next investigation.

That is the purpose behind its development: a connected process for mathematical reasoning, algorithm discovery, simulation and evaluation under human oversight.

Built by Layer 265

Our platform. Focused research programs.

PROMETHEUS supports internal research review and experiment tracking. Layer 265’s research programs each have a separate scope and evidence base.

TMN-1 and VANTAGE are separate Layer 265 programs investigating runtime assurance and mission evaluation. Each has its own objectives and evidence.
